Conventional radiators only radiate 15% of their heat output, the rest is convected to the top of the room. Underfloor heating is much better. |
The pipes are laid on top of insulating heat reflective board between evenly spaced batons. The next step is to professionally lay floor boards on the batons. Solid wood boards are not suitable, engineered boards (with a veneer of choice, in this case European Oak), are suitable and give a beautiful finish. If Carpets are required, good quality chip board and an underlay can be used. |
The heating is balanced and supplied from a manifold (left), and concealed with attractive boxwork (right), or alternatively in a cupboard, loft space etc. |
